The Relentless Pursuit...

"As the deer panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after
You, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God. When shall I come
and appear before God? My tears have been my meat day and night, while they
continually say unto me, 'Where is thy God?'" Psalm 42:1-3

King David of the Old Testament had a solid grasp of the infinite,
matchless value of God and His Word. David knew God and tasted His
goodness, thirsting always to become ever closer to Him. His passion
grew over time as their relationship matured. Look at his words of
longing in Psalm 42:1-2 "As the deer pants for streams of water, so my
soul pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living
God...". And in Psalm 119:2 he says, "How blessed are those who observe His testimonies,
who seek Him with all their heart."

Learning about God begins with reading and studying the Bible. As
you discover how God operated throughout history in the lives of His people,
you gain a deeper appreciation of how He works in your own life. It is
one thing to know abstractly that God is faithful, but when you read
concrete examples of His faithfulness, you are better equipped to
recognize His provision in personal circumstances. Seeing Him at work
is invigorating, and it fills you with thanksgiving and anticipation of
His blessings to come. The natural outcome of this excitement is a heart filled with praise.

"Teach me Your way, O Lord, I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to
fear Your name. I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart,
and I will glorify Your name forevermore. For great is Your mercy
toward me...." Psalm 86:11-13a
